Anyone know what the gearing is on King Quads? Might be putting a king quad diff in a vinson. Vinson is 3.600 im hoping the king quad is the same.

I think the gearing is the same, but i dont think the diff will work on the Vinson. I think they are totally different(King has IRS and sealed wet brake in with diff).

You'll need to know which direction the diff spins on both. I never did check, I know we were looking into this for my brothers Vinnie. The thing I'm thinking of is the output shaft on the kq vs vinnie. The kq uses a bevel gear that goes to the "driveshaft" inside the case. I believe the rear driveshaft goes direct from the bevel gear to the rear diff, the front diff is beside the rear shaft and should spin the opposite way. The Vinson has a straight through driveline; both the front and rear output shaft should spin the same direction

I'm guessing a bit, I've only looked at the microfiche, but I'm about 75% sure that on the KQ, one diff spins opposite of the Vinnie's diff.

What's broken on the diff? My bro's it was the limited slip setup totally grenaded. If the case is good, consider putting in the HL locker. It's not too bad of a unit. You need to be careful putting it in though, making sure it functions correctly. My brother caught about 3 or 4 different things that weren't machined properly, and he had to fix them to make it function correctly and reliably. Now it's solid though, takes a huge beating and works good. If the case and crown/pinion are good then you may want to consider it.

Ben

The Diff exploded and blew out the left side of the case. I have herd countless storys of vinson diffs blowing out. And it all seems to be caused by the same problem.. the carrier/ring gear bolts working loose and falling out. It's what caused this vinny to explode. I think it has something like 6 bolts and 3 of them fell out compleatly 1 broke off and the other 2 were as tight as the day they were installed. I just bought a Vinson a few months ago and once the weather gets warm again in taking my diff apart and putting lock tite on theese bolts.

Oh and looking at the exploded views of the 2 diffs they look pretty similar. some of the parts share the same part numbers. I think i seen where the Eiger and Vinny had the same gears... I wish i had a KQ diff to play with cause it would be awesome to see if the Vinson ring and pinions could be swapped into the KQ housing. Probably not but you never know....
