I'm having a problem with my warn 3.0. I hit the switch but no in or out. All connections are good and rust free. It kind of sounds like the contactor switch might have gone. It made a uncommon noise the day that it stopped working. I never overheated the motor either. Is it a common problem of them going???? Any thoughts?????

The contactor is probobly bad. Replace that and it should fix all your problems.

Warn had some contactor issues. Mine went out a while back, I contacted Warn, and they sent me a new contactor free. My winch works like new, now.

Before you replace the contactor, I'd take a voltage meter reading at the in and out wires from the switch where they connect to the contactor, and also take a voltage meter reading across the terminals that go to the motor when trying to run it in our out.

That way you could verify that it is the contactor, and not a loss of power to or from the switch, or a problem with the winch motor.

Very true. Thats a quick way to single the problem out. I would give warn a call since they were having problems just to see if you could score a free contactor. The worst they could say is no.
