Before you replace the contactor, I'd take a voltage meter reading at the in and out wires from the switch where they connect to the contactor, and also take a voltage meter reading across the terminals that go to the motor when trying to run it in our out. That way you could verify that it is the contactor, and not a loss of power to or from the switch, or a problem with the winch motor.
