Ever since i put a hmf on my BB when i crank it up when the engine is cold is smokes BLACK! smoke until it is warm then it stops...is this normal...or is my rings bad or what?

usually if its black smoke its running lil to rich. did u rejet when u put ur hmf on?

no i didnt rejet because HMF sent me the same size jet as stock 135

I would check to see if the stock numbers and the HMF numbers are the same. I think that some jets do not always mean the same by code. Try to find a cross reference or call HMF to be sure. But yeah the black smoke is raw fuel.  I just opened up my exhaust and I get the same thing and you can smell the fuel when its cold or when you get it in a bind.

The stock big bear jet is not a 135. Its like a 112 or 114. You def. need to rejet it.

Yep, IIRC the stocker is like a 112.5 or something like that, im running a 125 main now witht he snorkel and HMF. SOmebody must have put a 135 in yours becuase thats wayyy too rich.
