Ok some people asked how to relocate a radiator on a King Quad, well I did mine and it was very very easy. Only took about a hour to do it. I used what looks like 1.2 inch wide alluminum bar that I had laying around the house, but you can use something stronger if you want but this works also.

How to remove Radiator:

Take off belly skid plate.
On the side where your oil filter is, towards the front on the bottom left hand side you will see a 10MM bolt (This is were the antifreeze comes out) and drain that, while draining take off radiator cap (of course dont do it while its hot)
Undo temp sensor at the top back of the radiator
Undo clamps to the hoses on top and bottom
Then the fan will have a wire coming from it, follow that and disconnect.
Then there will be two 10MM bolts holding the radiator on, undo those and pull the radiator out.

Bracket:

What I did was cut the bar in have, then layed it out on my rack. There is two bars heading up and down your your King and the radiator is about that wide, so where the alluminum crossed the rack bar I bent it up to the angle I wanted the radiator. The I just cut the alluminum bar past the rack bar and bolted it down. Then for the nipple that the radiator sits on, I still used the alluminum bar and cut a hole in the end and bent that end up to about 23* and then that nipple will sit in that and the other end of the bar will be U-Bolted to the rack bar.

Finishing up:

Once everything is secure run your new hoses from engine to the radiator, the top hose goes to the top of radiator and bottom hose goes to bottom of radiator. You will need to extend the wire you disconnected at the top of the radiator. The fan wire will be long enough. Also I took off that expanded metal looking plastic peice and ran all my hoses and wire up through there. Then just screw back in the drain bolt and start burping the radiator.

Of course there is other ways to do this but this is how I did mine and once again it works.

Oh, BTW, i only had to make one bracket, the one in the front (was the bottom) of the radiator, the bracket started out as a grinder wrench, i just enlarged the hole so the factory rubber bushing would fit and then i just bent a 80 degree angle and cut it to fit then welded it to the rack. On the top side i just carefully bent the tabs that were already on the radiator so they would fit right into the holes that were already drilled in the front rack. I didn't have to extend any of the wiring, i did have to take the factory zip ties of of the wires to give them enough slack to reach, i put the overflow bottle on the frame close enough to reuse the tubing on it.

Yea man that looks really good. Those factory tabs scared me when I saw that because its very easy to seperate the sides of it if there any pressure pulling against it. So everything on that set up is pretty permanate huh? Looks good.

Oh yeah, it's permanent, I mean i could easily weld the cross tubes back in but as for the holes, well thats another story.
I was sure to be careful with the tabs and the rack actually added strenth to the radiator.

Thanks for the feedback....I really like how it turned out.

That is a very good question, how i did it is i found a really steep hill (like a ditch) and nose the quad almost straight down and then you have to turn the handlebars all the way, then you have to bend a funnel so it will fit between your pod and your radiator. It was a pain but i don't have any leaks so i wont have to do it often. That was the only way i could get all the air "burped" out of the system. I do all my adding to my overflow bottle mounted below the radiator.

Update on my radiator re-locate, since i cut all of my cross tubes out of my front rack it made it somewhat weak, i had to add a bracket below the plastic to add strength to the rack, the bracket is simple and it's not necessary unless you cut all the tubes out. You really don't need to cut all the tubes out of the rack unless you wan't the radiator to be low enough to get the most use out of your third headlight. If anyone needs me to take pics of the bracket just post in this thread or PM me and i'll snap some.

Andy
