ok im gonna have a buddy build me a lift for my  Vinson... hes already made a couple for Arctic Cats and Canned-hams.... my question is what height is too high?... 2" or 3"? ... Jason(teamMudd) i know you made yours what would you suggest.... or anyone else for that matter... i was also thinking of doing the Spring SPacers? maybe, maybe not... oh and i know about the Tie ROd hitting the Actuator, so i am getting another one of those built as well. any input would be appreciated.

Thanks JJ

sra lift or IRS conversion? and the more lift the better so i'd say 3. i was wonderin about the spring spacers or the HL springs 2.

Well I made a custom stainless steel lift but only made it 2". With the stock A-arms you cant really go more than 3". So I would either suggest a 2" lift with highlifter springs to gain about another inch or you can just get galvanized pipe to use as spring spacers.

Or if you don't want to use pipe, I make custom delrin/nylon spacers for the Vinson. My bud is using them on his Vinny and loves it! He got about 1.5" of lift just from the spacers. PM me for details.

mine is actually a HL kit, i'd planned on making a kit for my wifes.

2-3" is about all you can squeeze out of stock.  at 3" your at a high angle on the CV's and you have little to none worth of downward travel.

the other options are a custom set up, wich would be like a typical front lift, and then either a custom swing arm, or a swing arm spacer..............i can't say any more i'll ruin my winter plans................mine is going down for the winter for "repairs" lets call them!

well h3ll i thought you had a home made lift.... nah it wouldnt be no more that a 2-3 inch lift... i was just wondering if 3 would be TOO much for the CV's.... Scionizer07 send me some pics of that Vinson with the SPacers you made. i would prolly try the spring spacers before the HL SPrings. just to see what the out come is . the homemade lift is gonna be free, since its the first of this kind that hes doing... as soon as i get it done i will  post some pics of it..

goto lowes or home depot and buy pipe couplers.  for a set of 4 your looking at around 10-15 bucks including a can of spray paint to custimize them.

I dont know what i will get when i sell my vinson. maybe there will be some kinda new ES honda out with diff lock and IRS by then i dont want anything to do with belts.

My friend ran a HL kit on his vinson and it messed with the *caster/camber* cant remember which one it is. Tires looked like this \--/ when viewed from the front like the lower a-arms needed to be longer. when he took it off it still looked liek that though but the bushings dont seem worn wheel bearings were tight along with ball joints. The steering links are worn out but that wouldent effect it. any ideas?

I made a 3" shackle lift for my 04 Vinson.  The rear ones installed but put the rear driveshaft in a bind.  The rear drive shaft popped when it rotated.  The front ones would not even install due to the a-arms clearance.  If you make it work let us know and include some pics.
