We've just posted a "final" revision to the HLPSR rule book.  Keep in mind that of course there may be minor updates or changes as we get into the racing season and find out what works and what doesnt.  To find out when the last revision or change was made just check out the cover page which will automagically update as changes are made.

Thank you for all your patience and support.

FIRST OFF THANKS HIGHLIFTER FOR SETTING THIS UP WE ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SERIES.

i have a quick question....here is one of the rules in the open class.........does that mean the skimmers can run in the open class??

No tracks, automotive tires or agricultural tires are allowed to run in this class. Paddle tires designed and marketed for ATVs will be allowed to run in this class.

There is no class for skimmers, which i would call a super modified class.  There is not enough of these to make a class as we have tried several times.  This is a tough call and will probably work itself out in the first few races.  I don't have a clear answer other than if you have a quad the meets the size, motor and tire rule and it skims, there is nothing to stop you OTHER than IF the race official determines that by running that ATV it poses too much danger to the crowd or other racers.  Keep in mind there will be four wide except for heats that don't have enough for 4 or when adjustments need to be made to work the final feature race out.  My SUGGESTION, not rule, is to not build a skimmer for this class.  Each pit is different and some do not have enough height on the pit wall to keep a skimmer in should it go out of control.  Also, some pits are a little more narrow but will hold 4 safely at speeds we are accustomed to.  Sorry i missed this but it has not come up in the last few years.   HLPSR is OPEN to driver input.  This is a series for the racers so we will make changes as needed and continue to improve the sport.  That is not to say that there will be a change every race, but i do expect modifications as we go along and listen to you.

See you Friday!!!

I say go ahead and make the rule now before it becomes an issue.  Personally, I don't think skimmers should be allowed or the skimming tires for that matter.  That is a totally different class, and like you said, not enough to even make a class.  Just my 2 pennies.

thanks for the response scott.  but here is the problem.  i know of at least 4-5 skimmers that just don't show up at these races because they KNOW they can't race.  if they read this RULE book and see this they will race them.  their bikes already have the NOS installed and are easily converted to a skimmer.  that is a HUGE advantage because i know most who line up against a skimmer, which i have done, will just let them run and see if they make it or not then go because of the danger factor.  where is the fun or entertainment in that?  Please understand i am not complaining because i am very excited about all these series running but i agree with Brian and Eric.  we need to work this out before the races.  i can say this.........if the skimmers were to run in my class i would not even bring by big bike.  no need for me to trailer it and spend the extra fuel to just see if they MAKE it!

Ditto on the skimmer rule. I don't want to travel to the event before I find out if they will run.

You will be ok! With your lift you would still have to race Randy! Call HotSeat or pm southbossiergrizz and get pistons and cams. Then call CATVOS and get a progressive nitrous setup!

heck the ruv class isnt that bad. brad bulter from our team won three events with just a clutch kit and 31s. dont under estimate your rzr may surprise you. race it and if you like it then start making your mods to make it competetive. just have to see what works. heck we are going to race mine this weekend and i dont even have a clutch kit. lol

if you don't think your stock motor should go agains modded ones then what do you think the stock HEIGHT bikes should go against??  your lifted should they have to race your lifted bike with a STOCK height bike.  you fall into the OPEN category and according to your post open is open!

and just for the record my best bud is the one eric above is talking about and I have been in the passenger seat of all of his wins...........you don't need anything to win other than a good driver.

What about big atvs such as cat daddy and the others that Jeff and his crew at steel horses have built.  They should be able to run last sat. night just for the fun and to show off there workmanship.  From what i understand ya'll  being highlifter said they can't run at all.  Well thats just not rite imo.  I understand not to run friday night or really be able to compete.  But to be able to run last sat. night would be a good idea.  Theres more and more of these wheelers being built everday expesially around lufkin we have 5 of them 3 wheelers and 2 prowlers.  So i guess what im saying is make it happen.  lol please.

Oh yeah one more idea mud racing was pratically invented around skimming.  I think ya;ll should create a class for skimmers as there are a few out there, and do it off of time one by one just like mud racing is.  I'm sure dennis can chime in and clue ya'll in on it all from his mcnasty racing days.  Its just a thought and i tihnk both of my ideas are pretty darn good. lol

i have not seen the layout of the pit this year.  i have no problem with any of them doing a demo run for fun IF it is safe AND if Dennis is okay with it.  I personally get a kick out of seeing them run.

Got a few questions.

One     Are we going by the actual cc on the bike or in the bike.
Two    For some reason the rule book keeps coming up as web page cannot be found. So can someone post the actual cc classes not the pro a
or pro b stuff like in the standings.
