I have been haveing problems with the front diff. since i bought the bike and now they have just gotten worse. Since i bought it i have been haveing to drive all the time in 4x4 because anything i would hit the gas hard the 4wd will engage. Now when ever either front tire has any pressure on it, it make a loud popping sound. Any Suggestions? Do i need a whole new front diff. or just break it down and replace some gears? Thanks for any help. It is greatly apperciated.

Have you changed your front diff fluid lately? If not start their and let us know what if anything drains out. The popping sound is either a bad CV up front or your cage in the front diff is toast.

Camo is on the right track. See how your fluid looks when you drain it. If it is clean the you will need to crack the front housing. If the fluid is contaminated then you can try flushing it with new fluid a couple of times and then refill with 5oz of Polaris Demand Drive Fluid and see how it does. Wiggle your axleshafts and see if one has an excessive amount of play to determine if the popping is coming from a CV joint. If both axles seem good then it more than likely is a broken cage. Replace the cage with John deer P/N MIA 10667. You can rebuild the diff for about $110 if you want to. The input/pinion bearing is actually cheaper through Polaris by about $30 if you don't mind ordering from two different places. Let us know what you find.

I checked the axels and they seam to be fine. I chained the bike to the tractor and put it in low and only one of the front tires is pulling the other is just popping. From what i am hearing and what i have seen it seams to be internal. Thanks for yalls input so far. keep it coming please

A John Deer service facility for the John Deer parts. I just went back to my Polaris dealer for parts. You need to drain the diff and tell us what comes out. I'm thinking your gonna see some little bits of pieces of black plastic like material. That would be your cage.

You can buy all the parts cheaper at the john deer dealer than you can polaris. If you look in the top of this forum you will see a place that says john deer front diff parts. I would be ready to pull the front diff out so you will be able to see exactly what is going on.

exactly i rebuilt my front diff about 2months ago for $108.  that was roller, cage, armature plate and all seals.  it isn't hard at all.  just take your time when u tear it down and watch where everything goes and clean it thoroughly.  like they said read the stickys at the top of the page and u should find everything u need to know.

Their not selling them for POPO they are selling hillard brand parts that are used for John Deer applications but are the same or similar parts used by polaris.
