So I have a 07' 750i BF and it does not like starting in the cold at all, I have read that hte Dynatec CDI make it a lil' better. What other things can I look into for making cold weather starting easier or is just the nature of the beast?

When i mean cold, in a shed at 20* or so....anything below 50* it seems to take a bit to start. Run great once warm (a lil over 200mi. on it)

Thanks

all my carb'd kawies have been cold natured.
When my prairie 360 gets hard to start cold i know it's time for a valve adjustment.
I wouldnt think you need a valve adjustment already.

I wonder if they sell engine block heaters like they make for cars in the north? Maybe a little shot of ether would get her going quicker?

Mine needs full choke and it cranks for a bit then starts, runs for a few minuite and i take the choke off and it won't run with out giving it some gas....then it will idle fine (warmed up I guess)....maybee the idle is to low.

Also this is after it has sat for about 2 weeks and the batery seemed to be low on juice....I think I will try a Battery Tender (trickle charger) and a dynatec.

I have the dynatek and hot cams(geting rid of them when my web cams come in) I have my idle set a lil higher than normal. I also run nothing but 93 octane. That might be something to look into.

Well, I've got an '05 Brute 750, and I'm not sure where you're from, but chances are it's not as cold as where I live!!  I'm in Winnipeg Canada, and last winter was VERY VERY cold (many days were 40 below zero & worse with that **** wind!!).

My Brute didn't want to start some of those days, so I asked around what guys here were doing, and I switched to 0w40 synthetic oil & put in a Dynatek, and I think it has started every time since. If it works for me here, it should work for you (unless you're in northern Canada or Alaska maybe! LOL). Of course full choke & let it idle for a few minutes obviously, but it ran great once warmed up though!

they say it works pretty good. they do alot of plowing up there. but if they dont plan on using them for several days they dont plug em up but if they know they will need them they stay nice and toasty.

My brute is tough to start in the cold, and I have a cdi. I have to go full choke for about 5 minutes before I can even put it in gear or it will die.

I have the same issue as Flashpoint....I just can't figure it out and im in Florida...

Right now it is 60-70 during the day and sometimes in the 30s at night.

my brute has to be full choke for at least 10 min, when i bring the choke down it dies without bumping the throttle constantly. The simple solution was to turn up the idle adjustment screw but then when i put the bike in gear it grinds like a mother......also when the bike does finally warm up (usually after riding hard for 15 plus minutes) the idle goes back to normal and i have to turn the adjustment screw way down again.....real pain in the ****

10w-40 royal purple for me (per the owners manual)

I'm not sure what would cause that, especially in Florida! I started mine last night in the garage, and it's just below 30 degrees Farenheit right now, and it fired up / idled no problem (choke for a couple minutes). As mentioned before though, I do run 0w40 Fully Synthetic Mobil 1 oil, as do most people here becuase of our harsh winters. As soon as I started running the 0w40 last winter, it began starting MUCH easier when cold (minus 40 etc.).
