I put a HMF and dyno jet kit on my vinny a few weeks ago And it would crank up and idle and run fine but after a few rides it is now really hard to get it to crank up till it is warmed up and it also wont idle to the motor is up to running temp. Its also snorkled 1.5" all the way if it matters.

hmm. I'm thinking it's running lean on the fuel screw with all that snorked air coming through. I say get her running and adjust that fuel screw.

Where are you located? What is your jetting setup? I tried jetting for a 1 1/2" snorkel and I could never get it to run perfect in all of the throttle ranges. Your best bet would be to run a 2" snorkel all the way.

Im in Tuscaloosa. Im running a 128 dynojet main and needle on either the second or 3rd position and the mixture screw turned out between 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 turns. I havent ordered a new pilot jet yet

I should've gotten more info like Camo asked. I've also got a 1.5" snork, 128 DJ main, 3rd pos. on needle, and screw out 2.5 turns. Mine is a little hard to get started at first but will bust off quick after it warms up. Its the Pilot jet from what I've learned researching on here. I've been waiting on buying it because I'm gonna get an HMF and you have to rejet with that also. A #38 pilot should fix the problem. Its not that I dont like taking stuff apart, I'm saving myself some shipping costs from jetsrus. LOL

My vinson is mostly stock except for enlarged stock intake snorkle and high flow air filter. Now with this said, I have the 38 pilot jet installed when the colder monthsarrive up here. ANd in the summer I have mostly stock jetting including pilot. You guys FOR SURE need that 38pilot jet and at least a 128main  DJ (I  run a 122DJ) that 38pilot will get you were you need it IMO

The main problem is the 1 1/2" snorkel. I never got mine to run perfect in all of the throttle ranges with that size snorkel. I went with the 2" and got it dialed in just right. The carb was setup with a 134 DJ main, #38 Keihin pilot, clip on the second notch from the bottom, mixture screw around 1 1/2 turns out. That is also with the Webcam, HMF, and K&N. Bottom line - ditch the 1 1/2" and go with the 2" snorkel. You should be able to jet the carb, according to your mods, to get it to start and run better. Good luck.

my snorkel is 1.5 all the way. all i did was change the main to a 142 or 145. dont remember which i left in there. its just a bit cold natured but other than it runs perfect.
