Hey guys I am new to the forums,, I have been riding quads all my life,, I have a stock Honda Rincon 650  2005,, , it only has 230 miles on it,, to tell alittle of how ride, I hunt alot and get in some mud,,, small holes and some big ones,,  I was wanting to lift my Honda just alittle maybe 2-3" , I have heard of several, the ****, high lifter etc, etc, etc,, ,, and was wanting to put some more aggresive tires on it,,, like some  Interco Swamplites something that will ride good and handle some mud,, my questions were what is the best or most user friendly lift kit for the rincon and what is the maximum tire  size that I need to run,, I don't want any outlaws or anything like that, I will be trail riding/hunting 70% of the time and mud 30% of the time,, I just want to improve the looks of it, from what I have read the 27" tires are the limit of the motor in the stock configuration(which is fine), I don't have a problem with putting 26" tires on as long as it will turn them fine,, but I am new to the mudtire/lift world guys so help me out,, thanks,,

you already seem to be headed in the right direction concerning mods on your rincon but Ill add to that...

I suggest 26" or 27" Mudbugs or Zillas.
personally, I wouldnt get a lift unless I was going with a ture 27" or bigger.

The Rubber down 3" kit is good but will definitely put axles/joits at a pretty steep angle.

I support HL no doubt but theres no way I would get their Rincon lift due to the rear shock spacers.

Bracket lifts seem to be better, but Im not sure if there is a good 2" bracket lift for the rincon...

I'd go with 27'' zilla's (not mudzillas), and a 2'' lift off ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-RINCON-650-680-03-08-2-LIFT-KIT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem220299689753QQitemZ220299689753QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Has anyone had any dealings with this lift kit, off of ebay that #1rubicon speaks of,, I don't want to go with any mods except lift kit and tires,, so would it turn the swamplites 27" OK,, I won't be in much thick heavy mud,, I think **** makes a 2" lift kit for the rincon , is the **** any good,, I think it is 129 dollars,, and this one on ebay is 49,,,,  but here is a pic of the lift kit on ebay,,

no problem yet with Highlifters 2" lift.  that with the highlifter springs to help the sagging is just right for ours, (rider is only 165lbs)

The front part of the lift looks just like highlifters without spacers.  But the rear, highlifter uses just spacers.  But it looks like it would work fine.  I dont know how it will hold up though.

I RIDE WITH #1RUBICON ...HE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH HIS LIFT , I HAD A PRARIE AND BOUGHT MY LIFT OFF EBAY AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM EITHER NOR OUT OF MY 400 RANCHER AT THAT HAD THE EBAY LIFT ON IT...HOWEVER MY RINCON HAS THE HIGHLIFTER SPRING SPACERS ON IT AND IT HAS SHOT THE BACK OF THE RINCON ALL TO **LL BOTH OF THE PLASTICS ON THE SHOCKS ARE BROKEN AND THE SPRINGS HAVE NOW BROKEN OVER THE BOTTOM OF THE "SEAT " THAT THE SPRINGS REST ON...I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER HIGHLIFTER LIFT...I SUPPORT THEM TOO , I DO RUN OUTLAW TIRES...I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT AND FIX MY SPRINGS...BUT THAT WOULD PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN...IN YOUR CASE THOUGH RUN THE EBAY LIFT AND GET YOU SOME 27 INCH MST'S OR THE MAXXIS ZILLAS AND YOU WILL GOOD TO GO...THE ZILLAS ARE LIGHTER OF THE TWO...

The kit on eBay is a fine kit, I ran the same kind of lift before I had the RD lift, and its great. But it's not a 2" lift kit, its a 1-1.5" lift. All lift kits are going increase the wear of your bearings, ball joints, CV joints, tie rod ends etc. I would know. I ran a lift kit on my bike for over 6,000kms, and I've replaced every single bearing, bushing and seal in the entire front and rear suspension, as well as a couple tie rod ends, and several CV joints. Another minor technicality is that the axle shafts will hit the CV cups and do a number on them if you lift it more then 2". This isn't much of a problem, until you need to replace a CV boot and have to use a grinder to grind the lip off the cup to get the CV apart. You have to decide if its worth it to you to lift it, I know it was worth it for me.

Two more things about the lifts. The guy on eBay that sells that 1-1.5" kit, he also sells a 3" kit, stay far away, your just asking for trouble with that kit. The second thing, HL's 2" lift, their lift for the Rincon is the same concept as their lift for the Can-am Outlander's. Its a bracket lift in the front, which is fine, and in the rear its just two round spring spacers that stiffen the suspension. Your going to get very little lift, and a stiffer ride out of it. The quality of the kit is great, nothing against HL, but the design just sucks.

For tires I would recommend something like a 26-27" Mud Bug, 'Zilla, MST, etc. they are all great mud/trail tires. You can clear these tires without a lift kit, but 27's will require a fender bracket relocation kit. You can get away with bending the stock brackets away from the tires, but the kit is much better and also adds a ton of support to your floorboards which is really nice.

I have the 1-1.5" lift from the same seller, but this one is advertised as 2''. he has 3 rinny lifts(all built the same way) if your hevy set, buy his full 3''. I am light, but I am about to upgrade to his full 3''. I have had no problems with mine. Its easy to instal. the hl lift comes with spring spacers, and i dont have the spring compressor tool, nor did I want to stiffen my shocks up that much. the ebay lift is much cheaper, but very well built.

So would the 3" ebay lift be ok since I weigh 220 pounds,, I don't ride to hard but I also don't want to be tearing up parts,, and if I go with 27's would a 1-2" lift be enough to clear,, I don't want to be trimming fenders or brackets or any of that,, so with   27x10x12 on the front and the 27x12x12 on the back be ok,, I ride alot of trail type and then some mud,, ,,,  if so would I be ok with the swamplites,, or zillas,, I want which ever one rides better on field/trail type riding,,    and thanks for all the help guys I appreciatte it,,

You don't need to lift to fit 27 inch tires, but if you go bigger you can put the HL lift kit on it and it will do fine.

I would go with the rd lift, I just dont want to pay $100+ for a lift when I can get one for $60. rb is definitely nicer.

The RD lift and the extreme atver kit (ebay one) are the same design but the RD kit is beefier. I run the RD lift and I have had zero problems from it. If all you want is 26s I would hold up on the lift. With 27s you could get it or not. The lift will help add some clearance and it will stiffen the ride up a tad. A lift will make your bike a bit more tippy which is fine if you ride in the flat stuff alot.

I never have like the swamplites. The bugs, zillas, or MSTs would be a better choice in tire imo.

Well guys I ordered the RD lift kit last night,, so does anyone have any other comments or discussion on tires,, I really like the Swamplites ,, like I said before I ride 75 percent trail and field, and 25 percent mud water,, so I think for a all terain purposes I am thinking hard about going with the swamplites,, unless anyone brings up any good or bad points, I am thinking of ordering the 27x10x12 fronts and the 27x12x12 for the rear,, all on SS212 rims,,
