Hey guys, i just wanted to know something about the programmer. Is it tuned already for more power right out of the box? and what is the best setting for the outlander 800?

thanks

It really depends on what you have done to your bike.  I'm not sure that a programmer would do anything for a stock machine.  You would need to pipe and possibly snorkle to get the most benefit from a programmer.

The optimizer isnt as verstile as the PC3. and with the PC3 you can adjust maps on your computer screen.

With both of them it is beneficial to have a device to log AFR (wideband /DYNO) so you can accuratley adjust the fuel delivered to the engine.

The optimizer is not "untunable" but you have more options with the PCIII.

Right...so how does a guy that already has an optimiser make the best out of it(without throwing it away and spending more money on a PC)? i see a lot of talk but not a lot of help.

""IF"" he has a snorkel the best action he can do is remove it and sell it on Ebay. I think you will find it hard to sell it on any of the Can-am websites and Highlifter. Snorkeled ATVs most of the time run rich and needs fuel removed from the mix. The optimizers are not able to do this. The only case I can think the optimizer is better then stock would be on an ATV that only has an exhaust and high flow filter. Even with this setup the fuel mixture will still be off but will be better then stock using the sugested HMF settings.

i see a grasshog with a bad attitude!

the only thing you can do is hook the bike up to a afr reader and see where the ratio is at.  i will say that the hmf folks are more helpful online and over the phone than the dynojet guys.

I agree that the HMF guys are more helpful but their EFI product is light years behind what is needed.
