I wanna get a HMF Swamp Series pipe for my renegade. The reason is because it's supposedly not so loud. What do yall think about this pipe? I know I can get the kick butt pipes with a quiet core, but to me that defeats the purpose of a pipe if you plug it up.

I personally like them, they are quite a bit more quiet than most after market pipes, But if you run the snorkel it will  be a little louder. Plus it still gives good power gains. But my favorite thing about it is that it has no packing to worry about and is completely sealed.

Not so! 1 of my buds(bruterecoveryman) had 1 on his 08 800XT & it was perty plugged up!  I've also read about 1 being plugged up, causing back pressure & splitting the pipe! I've heard a few folks say there's some bad reviews on them. I was really wanting 1, but have since turned away. If you do get 1, make sure to get the snorkle for it!  Hope this helps & later        Brandon

I believe they do have a small amount of non-replacable packing inside.

They have ALOT of packing inside them. I would not reccomend the swamp series for any one that does any mud/mudddy water riding. Mine stopped completly up with in 170 miles. The problem is they are not sealed between the canister and the silencer. Mud gradually seaps in and cloggs the packing. I dont know how they do on the trail (0 mud). But. HMF claims they have as much flow as a utility series and they are quiet (just a touch louder than stock). just dont expect to put them in the swamp! I dont believe the snorkle will help unless you seal the end at the canister/silencer connection.

I don't plan to use it for what it is for (mudding and swamping). I just want a not so loud pipe for the trails that gives descent power gains over stock. So far, this is the only pipe I've heard of that is low in sound besides the ones with quiet cores which in my mind defeat the purpose of owning a pipe.

We have a guy in our group that just put one on his '08 700 grizz and loves it.  He felt that it instantly gave him more power and is just slightly louder than stock, but not too much (he also hunts with his bike). He doesn't have a snorkel, and just had John Cannon tune his bike (if that makes a difference...lol).

After talking to HMF, I was told that the swamp series pipe supposedly gives the most power out of their pipes, but is the quietest.

I'd also avoid the quiet core imo

That's exactly what I was wanting to hear. Thanks BRmudder for the info. Because of that, the decision is now final. I'm gonna order my new HMF Swamp Series today! I've already ordered the flares and precision stabilizer for the rene. This now completes 3 out of 5 mods that I'm gonna do to the rene straight off the showroom floor. Just two more to go and then I'm off to the dealer!

I know how you feel. You want to help people with what you know and hope it turns out right. I've been there. Trust me, you didn't steer me wrong. I've done piping a while and know what I want. I just wanted one more opinion. If it doesn't work out, no biggie here.  I really appreciate your input and honesty and I'm pretty sure there will be good results.

Man, I love my Swamp Series pipe, but like everyone else says... it's not good in the mud.  This is the reason I went and added the snorkel piece to mine.  It got mud packed in there and it was like a ****!  Now, after the snorkel, no problems!

Sounds like this pipe could be underrated. For guys who want power without all the noise, this sounds like the way to go.

i realy liked it.. it just comes with a extra price to match the quaility 300 up here
regular hmf is 220

i think people complaining bout mud packing in their pipe are swamping and killing their bikes. letting all that sediment flow in and plug stuff up
