any opinions on this pipe im looking to hopefully add a pipe on my 500 foreman towards end of this month and was looking at the penlands. I spend most of my time in thick mud or deep water/soupy mud

I can vouch that they sure woke up my 400 Big Bear.  It gave it a lot more snap off idle and it sounds pretty tough.  Folks that aren't into quads usually say "That thing is only a 400cc?"...haha...

Mine, the penland has gotten a little louder but still sounds good but i think its still gettin louder. But I think the utillity will always be a little louder

I've only been in water that deep one time...can't really say if it made a difference or not.  I have heard that when the packing gets wet, it will make it louder though.

Yea I have done it a lot in mine. When the packing gets wet it breaks down and starts to come out of the exhaust which makes it louder. It does it a lot worse on the utility instead of the penland imo. On my friends with the utility u can see the packing particles come out of the exhaust after we get done riding when water gets up that high. His is SUPER loud now!!! mine is just somewhat louder but quite compared to his.

well if you had a brute we could meet in buna and i could hook you up, im getting rid of mine, i like to run a snorkle on my pipe, and the penland is just to loud for a snorkle, so its just been sitting in my shop for awhile now
