Lol. But he want do nothing but trail ride and put his 450 foreman in any mud. But i will drop my 450 grizzly off in just about any mud or water hole. It floats and i dont mind messing it up.

I would not waste my time with HMF. I have 2 of them. One on my Rhino and one on my Brute. The one on my Rhino broke a weld this past week. I spent a lot of time trying to get HMF to do something about it since it is only 4 months old. I finally had a friend who can weld aluminum re weld it. If it happens again I will buy another brand, but never an HMF again.

I've never heard them side by side, but the HMF Utility is LOUD, especially on big bore bikes.  I love the HMF brand though, I haven't had any problems or seen any problems out of them.  You won't HAVE to rejet when you get an aftermarket exhaust, but when you change any of the air flow you need to rejet for optimum performance.  Get an exhaust, a filter, and a jet kit.  You'll be pleased with it.

you will most likely have to rejet the 450.  I did with the HMF Utility.

IMO the utility is louder than the penland.  IMO the penland sounds better on a V-Twin than on a single cylinder.  I love my utility because it keeps people from tailgating.  Whenever they get too close, I just romp down on the throttle and they back off.
