Does anyone have a '09 Grizzly 550 with power steering?  I am going pick mine up on saturday and was wondering if anyone had any gripes, or good things to say about them.

if the 550 is the same frame as the 700, will the 2" HL lift for the 700 work on the 550?

i was wanting the 550. ive been to 3 dealerships, no one has one yet. from what im told, it is the EXACT same bike as the 700, except for a smaller cc. AND unless you just want a smaller cc, to spend the extra couple hundred dollars and get the 700. i was wanting the 550 b/c i wanted something bigger than my 400, but not as big as a 700. ive sat on a 700 grizz, and its big for me. i got short legs! lol once i got a lift and tires on it, id need a step stool to get on. so, im a little disappointed in the sizing of the bike.
definetly take some pix and let us know how it handles and all. i still havent ruled it out yet.
oh, and congrats on the new toy!

Well I just got home with the new '09 550.  iI ran it around the yard a little, so here's what I can see so far: it has good low-end torq, the throttle response could be better, but it builds rpm's up fast, I also took it down the blacktop and the speed-o-meter was reading 58 before I had to stop.  The seat is pretty comfortable, and it rides great.  I bought this one mainly for hunting so I will most likely put a set of 27's or 28's MST's or Laws, haven't decided yet, but I still want to be able to play in the thick stuff. Also the dealership said that this is a Griz 700 frame and plastics with a smaller motor, so all of the bolton acc. should fit, like skids and bumpers etc.

4man0822 I got a pretty descent deal. The bike with the EPS, and 2500lb warn installed for 6600.00
As for the power I have only been able to ride around the yard, I got home around 1:30 this afternoon, and it seems to be good.  Throttle response could be better, deffinatly needs different tires these will not shed that MS red clay that makes up my hunting lease, but has a good low end. Also ran it down the road and got it up to around 58 before I ran out of road.

I wonder why the price is so high on the 550...you would think smaller cc's = smaller price.  At abernathys in TN you can get a grizzly 700 EPS OTD for $6894.00

Yeah, but that is for an '08 model.  You can automatically tack on about 3 to 400 dollars for an '09 Yamaha anything as all of prices have gone up.  I doubt anyone will be able to find an '09 Grizzly with EPS for less than 7200.  Most will pay much more.  Realisticly, you are looking at about an 800 to 1000 dollars difference between the two.  Which, unless you just want the extra 136CCs, will allow for a pretty nice tire/wheel combo and maybe even an aftermarket exhaust.  Its all about perspectives.

Your lucky,  cause everything that bolts on the grizz will fit the 550.  That is the pipe, optimizer, filters, big bore kits, stroker kits you name it.
