I bought my kodiak 18 months ago, and have put just about 9000km on it, thats about 5500 miles.  I've always felt that the 450 could use a little more power, but it wasn't so obvious until i put the bugs on.  I absolutly love every other aspect of the kodiak but i'm reminded of my lack of power every ride pretty much.

After recently coming into some money ( <3 toyota for buying back my rusted out tacoma ) I am contemplating an upgrade.  I am debating wether it is worth adding some mods to my 450, hoping to satisfy my want for power, OR, no screwing around and just get a grizz 700???  I will be losing alot of money if i sell my 450, due to high milage.

SO i guess my question is, Is it worth the upgrade? Or is it possible with the right mods for that little 450 to keep me happy?   I ride all type of terrain but never pass the chance at hitting a good mudhole,  we do quite a bit of highway driving when we get north enough and its late enough to not have to worry about the law.  I'd imagine the extra top end on the grizz would let me not have to worry about cars coming up from behind.   I know the 700 will give me what i want, but it will come at a huge cost.  Even worse though, would be modding my 450 and still being unhappy with it.

I'm sure im not the first person here to cross this bridge, any advice or insight would sure be appreciated.  Thanks

I sold my bruin 350 and bought a used grizzly 660. Been 1000 times happier since. I lost a little under two grand on the bruin but it was worth it.

Thanks for the quick answers fellas,  great forums Highlifter has, Hopefully i'll have the 700 in my sig soon, been starting negotiations with a few dealers, looks like they are very very eager to get those 08 out of their stock.  Any canadians know if 11.3k OTD w/2 yr warantee, warn winch, camo is worth jumping on?  I know that must sound like such a rip off for my southern neighbors :(

If i get an 08 grizz 700, what issues will be surely be dealing with? I've read about the boiling gas and stalling issues, but am unsure wether or not those problems were corrected from 07 to 08?   Most of the people i ride with have older bikes, so my experience with these new machines is pretty limited.

You shouldn't have either..or any problems to say the least...My best friend has a caom 08 700 with a 3" xtrmeme lift, ape axles on the back, snorked airbox and belts, clutch and radiator relocated and we've never experienced a problem. Be SURE to di-electric grease every connection you can find before you go riding. It will save lots of trouble in the long run..But imo you will be very satisfied with the 08 700
