I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 500 Extended cab, and I would like to know if 33'' off road tires would fit without any kind of lift?
If it doesn't what kinda of lift would i need that would be just enough to clear them?  Thanks.

1500 or 500? 1500's you can fit 33's and they will look stock. You should have no problems what so ever. I have 33's on my 1500 and they look stock and dont rub anywhere

the GMC's must have less clearance then.
my dads 06 GMC 2500 will barely clear 265/75-16's.

w/1" crank I am barely fitting 285/70-17's (32.5's)

My bars are cranked and I am running 33" Grapplers.  I wouldn't want to do 35's without a lift.  I rub when flexing now.  If you don't wheel your truck much you can probably get by with 35s.

Yeah they will fit especially if you have the T-bars cranked. I have alot of friends with 35's on a stock z71s (newer models) but they dont use them for off-roading, just for looks and hunting season. I have one buddy some how fit 36" Irocks on a stock truck on a 07 classic z71 but it looks crappy and stuffed.

Yea, newer body style will take 35's well, just don't try to stuff them.  They will rub hard.  I will try to find my pics of mine, 33's are about the biggest that you can tuck with no lift, thats why I will be lifting it next month and stepping up to 37's

Wow I drove a 2003 Chevy 1500 with a Fabtech 6in lift and 35s and they rubbed like a mutha. How you guys doin it stock?! Not interested for me but I work at a Chevy dealer and constantly get questions like how big can I go on a stock truck. The max I've ever recomended was 285-75-16s with a little cranking. I don't like telling people the wrong info.

back spacing on the wheels is key, thats why most of what you see here are on stock wheels. Most after market wheels stick out to much.

i am going to put either 33 mud grappler, 285 terra grappler, or 285 bfg ats on my 08 z71. it has 18" wheels so they will all be expensive. how are the mud grapplers ride compared to the other two? and are the terra grappler or bfgs a better tire?
-ps. the 285 75 18 bfgs for my truck are 1200 because they only make them 10 ply! but i think they would look awesome on my truck. i can get the terras for 890.

I am running 33x12.5x17 MTZ's on stock rims with Ford keys and 3" blocks on my 06 Silverado Crew Cab. I dont rub any and it doesnt looked stuffed at all. Rubbing all depends on your rim offset. If you stick with stock rims you shouldnt have any issues rubbing.

The Mudd Grapplers ride pretty good for being a mudd tire.  But are LOUD at interstate speeds.
