Anyone heard of this?  If so fill me in.  I can't find on the Yamaha web site where they sell one, but on some of the pictures off accessories, the Rhino they use to mount them on has a full cage?!  I am in the market for one, curious what it is like and if they have one.

Here is a link to the accessory page from Yamaha Canada

There are some accessories Yamaha US sells that Canada doesn't have as well.  Weird and I don't know why.

Because Yamaha Motor Canada works hand and hand with alot of eviromentalist groups here in Canada, hence no GYTR  pipes.

I was in my dealer yesterday, Yamaha released a rear "canopy support" or rear cage bolt on kit.  It is not the strongest, especially compared to other aftermarket cages, but for what most really need, it is the ticket.  Only $399 CAN, so probably around $350-$375 US.  They also are making a rear spare tire bracket that opens out of the way like on the back of some SUV's, and a full fabric roof/sides/rear canopy for the rear cage portion.  So if anyone is looking, price is right, and much easier for us Canadians to get without shipping a large cage over the border.

Look at the price tag on those crcages.  Very nicely built, and I know that no price is too high for optimum safety, but when you think what most people really need, the Yamaha one is priced very well for what it is.

Still $900 more.... Wish I could see pics of their rear cage extension before I knock it.  Could be pretty sweet.

Ya, that is definately twice the cage compared to the Yamaha one.  but for the price, the Yamaha one is all many folks need.

I was going to build one, but for the easyness of the Yamaha one, I might do that.

ya i was looking at that cage in the new 09 catalog of assc, and it looks alright and for going on the trail/camping trips i thinnk it would do a geart job at keeping all the mud and water off ur stuff and with the money you save on this cage compairing to the other one linked, the money saved will pay for all or most of you trip, got to use your head, all depends on what you got in the back kids well then id be putting the money out, just a cooler and some gear well then im gonna give yamaha a call, maby this is why canada is not goign though what the states are right now, becz we spend money on what is needed, and not go gun hoe on stuff thats not needed but thats just my thought and it doesnt count for anything anyways, good luck with what ever you pick

most aftrmarket cages are lower and if not they can make them that way for you or you can just go with another company to get the lowered cage

I have a serious issue with lowering my cage.  It is already low enough when it comes to enough headroom.  I am fine in the front, but not 3" to spare.  And then in the back, it will be even worse if someone has to sit back there.  Each to their own, but making a cage shorter is not for me.  Only two advantages I can see are lower to get into enclosed trailers, and to clear low branches on trails.  Not enough for me to switch unless I am missing something?

And I guess this does not apply to just a cage extension anyways.
