yes, there was a DIY post about that a while back.  Looked really nice, and helped tremendously I guess with the steerable light.  I'm sure someone will have it saved for you.

Several guys on rincon riders have done this mod. They all seem to like it and it makes the Rincon look a bit different.

I did mine.  I kind of like little projects like that, and between the light and a bumper it changes the profile and gets rid of the sloped front CRV like styling.  Also, the 3rd light doesn't get covered in mud as quickly as the lower ones.  Be sure to use a good switch.  Cole Herse makes an O ring sealed toggle switch, and rubber boots in a variety of colors are sold seperately.

The member BKR over at rinconriders sells parts at a discount and he has a list of every nut and screw that is required.  For 680's the Rincon meter will bolt right up to the Foreman bracket.  The mounts are reversed on the 650 Rincons, so the tabs on the Foreman bracket have to be cut off and welded back on facing the other way.

Also, if you decide to do the modification and run into a problem or have a question, feel free to send me a PM and I'd be happy to try to help...

jeff I did not know that.  I might do this mod then here soon.  I like the looks of the headlight on the handlebars and since I rolled mine three months after I bought it the plastic on the meter looks like crap.  so this would get it back to looking like new.  I am also happy they have a camo one for the forman also

I have the black plastic piece that surrounds the rubicon head light with a brand new key switch with 2 keys if anyone is interested in buying for this mod.

I wonder if this could be done to a 420?

I know the display might be a bit smaller but I could fab up a nice aluminum adapter plate for it.

Whats the total cost for the parts needed?

If I recall correctly, the Honda parts were around $180 or so?  Then a few bucks for a O ring sealed toggle and the rubber boot for that finished look, and some wire, solder, shrink tubing...  I also used a water proof bullet connector where I tapped into the accessory wire.

Looking at the Rancher, I'm not sure if it could be made to work, or not.  I'd imagine with a bit of cutting and welding it could be done, but as you noted the meter is a totally different shape.

Rubicon parts could work, as I suppose you could put the accessory socket where the mode switch hole is, but using the Foreman parts makes sense, so you can cut the hole for the accessory socket wherever you choose.

Here's where I put mine...

I have a 06 rancher with a 06 foreman headlight. It bolted right up all I had to do is make a dash where the pod would be located. The parts costed around 70 dollars. Its turned on by a toggle switch. Also I installed a 5000k H.I.D light in it.

I'll have to get one of my buddies to take some pics, or when I get a new camera.

That looks super-nice on the Rancher!  Definately post some pics of the dash when you are able.

Good job.
