It took me about 20-30 mins to install.  And yes it is worth it.  I noticed that the engine reved quicker and I could get to my top end quicker. You will need a flywheel puller and torque wrench and an impact wrench for the install.

The first one I changed took me about about 45 min. Now it takes me about 20 min. Here is a really good write up with step-by-step instructions and pics. Timing Key InstallThe flywheel on my 02 was really stuck on there good. I had to take a 3 lb sledge to the puller. Don't be afraid to whack it good.

As far as the difference, it depends on the amount the key is offset and supporting mods. The one I am running now is .05" and I notice good increase of throttle response. I have to run 93 oct now because I get really bad spark knock with 87.
