Well i had some spare time today so i got busy and ran my crank case vent and gas vent up to the pod. Both were super easy to do. I took a few pics.

Here you can see the crank case vent. I just spiced the new hose to the old hose with a plastic connector and ran it along the frame rail with zip ties to keep it of the exhaust. Then up to the pod.

In this pic you can see were i removed the check valve from the frame. There is a hole were it was in the frame which i did fill with silicone after i took the pic.The check valve is made of plastic and is a two piece unit so i siliconed around were it joins together just in case it ever decided to leak. I started to totally remove the check valve but decided against it. The valve will not let gas fumes to escape the take unless enough pressure builds up. I figured this is a good thing so I left it in line. The bad thing about the check valve is that it only works one way. This means it keeps gas fumes in but will easy let water in if it gets in the frame so it's a good idea to run this up if you have not already done it.

Here you can see both vent lines at the pod. I was not comfortable with leaving the crank case line open at the end. I figured this was a good way for dust to get in the oil so i picked up a filter at the parts house. This way it still breaths fine but is filtered. This whole little project cost lest the $10 to do.I got every thing except the the crank case vent filter at Lowe's

Good info..I was thinking of removing the valve and running it straight to the pod...i wonder if its designed to maintain a certain tank pressure?

Thanks

I ran my gastank up .....just a little to late

Anyway i still read 43 psi without the check valve so i guess no check valve is fine

I used silicone to plug the hole in the air box. Why do you think there will be oil ever where? I have not done any wheelies since i moved the line.

Yeah I've had oil in my air box. Thats one of the reasons i moved the line up to the pod. I was hopping with a 5 foot long vent line i would not still have the problem with it puking oil.

It shouldn't "puke" oil with the crankcase mod.  I have it on the grizz and brute, both get ridden on 2 wheels more than 4 and it still hasn't been a problem!

with the crankcase vent mod it will no longer smoke when doing wheelies. one thing to keep check on metalman is the hose that you used for the crankcase vent line will get hot and try to collapse i used the same stuff and on a good long ride one day it collapsed and did not let the crankcase vent and it built up pressure and puked oil all over my pod. but it was kinda pinched already where i had it mounted before. just keep check on it. i had to use the black hose that handles heat a lil better than the clear stuff.

Thanks for the heads up bushhog750.I'll keep an eye on it. Was the clear hose you used braided like what i got?

I went riding today and checked it out. I done some long wheelies and also did a ton of water wheelies and so far i have had no problems

I had a blast today. The water was deep and i was the only one playing in it. All the other none snorkel bikes had to set on the side lines and watch me have fun in the deep stuff

hey thanks for those pics, i'm gonna go buy me some hose!

on my list of stuff to do is:

run gas tank lines
run oil breather lines and plug hole.
pull off duck bill and make a valve in there so its serviceable.

i just gotta figure out all the different sizes and actually do it.

you said the hose was 1/2" ID? thats just the oil line the gas tank vent is much smaller???

the gas line vent 1/4" will work or 5/16" actually fits better.  Takes almost 6ft of it to get up to the handle bars where the others are. I bought 6ft and trimmed about 1ft of excess off.... Cost was ~ $3. Going back this afternoon for tiny airfilter (freakin $10) and some 1/2" hose for the crank.

Also remember there is a vacuum in your airbox that may be helping suck some of that oil out of the crankcase.  They may have to run it to the box for epa standards.
