Bike: POPO 800 HO

What can I do to make my factory duels breathe better under more than three feet of water?

I was wondering if I removed the second pipe, would this get the job done till I can AFFORD an AAEN?

I know it would be louder but since it has a 2" opening where the second pipe attaches, I figured it would breathe better....

Any advise appreciated......

I would honestly just leave it how it is until you can afford a AAEN, I mean you do not wanna go jacking with the bike until you have the money to actually do something worth while to it.....A AAEN is 389 from triangle atv

no problems at all with my stock exhaust in deep water over 5 ft.  if your having problems then its not your exhaust.

When ever I get in a good deep mud hole, the super thick nasty stuff my bike slowly dies.

Ive had my exhaust under water and its fine at about a foot..

I havent had it super deep yet and dont know how it will do when the pipes get 5 or 6 ft under water. I just wanna make sure its gonna breathe.

and far as aftermarket exhaust don't know if you heard one yet but the slip on hot seat performance (hsp) sounds awesome compared to the aeen. thats what i'm getting here pretty soon.

Oh yeah its deffinatly got dielectric grease in the boots and connectors.
Besides if the wires or plugs were gettin wet it would sputter or run ruff before it died, and it doesnt.
It idles down smooth and slowly till it dies.
Im thinking the thick mud is not letting the exhaust out and it is killin it. Kinda like puttin your hands over the exhaust outlets.

if your exhaust is in that thick of mud it doesn't matter what exhaust is on it it will die.  water with the factory shouldn't be a problem.  but imo if u an exhaust stick with the hsp.  they sound better than anything else on a polaris.

I totally agree with you vanillagorilla. i would say maybe its the steam from the motor sucking into your intake and killing your quad.. according to your avatar it doesn't look snorkeled.. when mine was STOCK it would instantly kill it before i snorkeled it. no spit or sputter before it died..

This has been discussed time and time again.  I once believed it didnt matter, but had the same prob out of another 700 at around 5ft. deep.  Put an AAEN on it and it hasnt missed a lick since....................

Exactly. From what I've read, some bikes have this problem and some don't.

Thank you all for your input.

popo800efi - The day I brought it home from the showroom I striped the bike down to the frame and dielectric greased every connector and then some.....
INCLUDING the plug wires on both ends.

Get the HSP slip on. Don't waste your money on the Aaen. Been there done that. If you want a completely hollow Aaen i have one laying around. All of the guts rusted out of it.

How do you know that? Did you call them? It doesn't say that on their website anywhere. If that's all they recommend, then that's probably because it's the only one they sell/carry.

Triangle, Berts dirt works, most Polaris mechanics and about 85% of every body I have talked to say that the AAEN gives the most power gains and breathes the best under water.

when I talk about under water im talking on a water wheely with the exhaust about 5-6 feet under

The Hot Seat slip on works great under water and does not fall apart like the Aaen. It also has a deeper tone than the Aaen.
