Will the HMF utility series for an 02-03 500i fit my 400i or will I be better off with the supertrapp or the speedwerx? I am a machinist I also thought of fabing one after seeing the insides of a few of the aftermarket brands. I am looking for a deep rumble but not something that is overwhelming. Thanks guys

I may do something like that on the inside of the one i fab up but I want it to look like it came from a factory.

No I am going to keep the stock pipe the way it is because I pull double duty with the cat during hunting season. Just pop a couple of springs and I can go riding or hunting. I will probably roll a piece of stainless sheet about 5 in around and tig the seam(get someone to tig the seam) build my guts and slide them in and then weld caps on the ends. I have acess to a flaring machine so I can make it a direct replacement and if I can figure out how to resixe my photos I will post some.

Has anyone measured the GC on them yet. I looked at one today (with drool coming from my mouth by the way) and it looked like a lot more than 14"
