every so often you have to adjust the actuator cable as it gets alil stretched. on left side sitting on quad behind the inner fender, connected to the diff is the actuator. has a cable going throughing a oblong metal rod. its easier to remove the front part of the skid and look at it from underneath, and to make adjusments.

maybe my 03 is different, but I just adjusted my cable this past weekend and the adjuster was up top, behind/under the speedo cover.  8mm wrench and 10 mm wrench.  Works just like an adjuster on a manual clutch cable.

i guess i could be wrong or we are both right b/c the adjustments underneath is like a clutch/brake adjustment also.

I don't think mine has an adjustment underneath.  Not that I could see/find readily.  All I could feel was the cable end and the bracket that holds the cable.

They may have switched the cable around on the newer ones?
