Aight here we go.. Aside from the obvious replies of " Shoulda got a dodge or a bully dog or whatever", I'm in a pretty deep pile of poo. I got a Ford F-250 with the 6.0. I just recently installed an edge EVO programmer on it. The programmer would continuosly freeze and lock up.. After several attempts to fix the prob ( downloads from the website..Etc etc) The good folks at Edge performance sent me a brand new on......Now here's where it gets crazy. I got the new one in today. I went to uninstall the setting I already had on the truck ( economy) and guess what, it freezes up in the middle of writing the stock settin to the pcm and tcm.. So basically, the truck now will not crank. I've tried using the new one but iot wont do anything cause it cant configure with the jumbled program the other one sent.. I've unhooked the battery terminals to see if the computer would reset, no luck. I've tried downloading new software from, the site, no luck.. I tried a few minutes ago to see if it would work and now the programmer reads "application missing, contact tech support". Well I did that and those boys live on the left coast and aint coming into work until 10am, central time. I'm in the middle of repairing a hot water heater in lmy house and am needing to get a few thoings finished on it before the tech support crew are at work... Any of ya'll have this prob before, any suggestions??

ur pretty screwed till u get them to write a new flash to fix ur computer. ur gonna have to wait to talk to them. it earsed the pcm.

same thing happened on my duramax, but luckily i unhooked the battery cables for about ten minutes and hooked back up and it reset itself..i know the feelin you going threw though, man this will make a man, kick, stomp, scream, and say a whole lotta bad words, sorry and g-luck man..

You aint kiddin!! I tried the battery cable deal a few times too. Left em off for as long as an hour and no luck.. This is going on 4 hours so u know its a biyatch
To make it worse, I sent the wife and kids to my parents because of the hot water heater taking a dump. They live 26 miles away... Now I dont have any other wheels to go and qet the rest of the parts to finish the water heater. I guess I could load up on one of the wheelers... Shoot to heck with it!! I'll shut it down and play madden for a few hours lol

Yep I hate to say it man but your PCM was erased during the flash. Keep trying to reflash with the programmer is the only advice I can give, you may have to tow it to the dealer so they can reflash it with the factory script..or Edge could possibly send you a file if the Evo has custom tune ability?? (I don't keep up with most of the the "off of the shelf" programmers, a lot more fun making your own tunes!

It has custom tunability. Just need to replace the flash I guess in the morning when I get in touch with the tech support guys.I was hoping I could solve this problem tonight but it aint looking like its gonna happen. Thanks for the help fella's

i have an 02 f-150, level one went fine! level two froze right at the end. lets just say i could listen to the radio and that is it! i spend 65$ to reflash the pcm. my truck has the pats system so they could not just make the edge a flasher so i had to take it to ford! edge promissed up and down there would send my money. they wrote me off so every time i called they would just say its in the mail

so what is the status junya? i have contacted everyone i know and all of them say call tech support. sorry bro i couldn't help ya last night. that was kinda out of my league plus it has never happened to me. hopefully it will straighten out today.

Got it covered!! I was on the phone with edge when you called, Mark. Sent me a few things through the fusion software adn I FINALLY cranked the truck 5 minutes ago.. It is all peaceful here, once again

Yeah thats how this whole mess got kicked off. I just got a new one in and was settin the motor back to stock when it froze during calibration. Erased everything on the motor. Anywho, I'm back up an running with a new one

First off you aint missing anything by not buying a bully dog.

2nd the edge isnt the greatest either. I didnt know they had issues with the evo on the fords. I only knew of the issues with the juice on the duramaxes.

Glad it got worked out. Ive crapped my the frst time my laptop died during the middle of a reflash. So I know how you feel.

nothing bad happens its just a waste of time if it does die, recharging, and reflashing.

JJ, thanks for setting me in the right direction..
Thanks for the advice guys on this.. Glad to see I aint the only one that has had it happen.
Durallymax, I hear ya!! I got a couple friends that run the bullydog with the crazy larry and they swear by it but they've also have seen a few tranny jobs in their day too..lol.( AINT THAT RIGHT JJ?? lmao)
I know the edge aint the greatest but I know I'm a little limited on how far this 6.0 can be pushed stock. Aint looking to run 11 sec 1/4 mile times BUT was looking at getting what I could out of it. I got a sweet deal on the whole package ( magnaflow 5" straight pipe, cold air intake, air raid spacer and the evo programmer) It fo sho aint taking out any duramax or cummins hop ups but I'm pretty happy so far. May look at something a little later.. you have any suggestions?? I will say that with what I've got it, the truck sounds like an A-10 warthog when I get in the throttle till around 2500 rpm and then its nothing but rumble out of the exhaust.

I hear that teh dp tuners are good for the fords and also the tony wildman tuners are good. Get on some powerstroke forums Dawayne. You would learn alot about your truck on powerstrokenation.com

For a 6.0 most people are running SCT tuners with custom tunes. I think some good tuners are Elite, Innovative Diesel, and Spartan, but they might only do 6.4s. The ones Bullgod mentioned are mostly 7.3 tuners. If your looking to upgrade, Id also reccomend a EGR delete and headstuds.

I think theres a pretty good kit out from FirstCoastDiesel. They are a sponsor on CompetitionDiesel.com and Powerstrokenation.com I'm not too sure on the price, but I know if I had a 6.0 it would be on of the first things I would do. Once you get rid of the EGR/Anti Freeze puking issues the 6.0s are pretty good motors.
