I was messing around the other day with me 350 rancher es and noticed a shaft coming out of the side of the motor like on the foot shift models does anyone think i could convert it from es to foot shift

I think it has been done before but its probably a lot of work... that shaft thing is for the emergency shift tool if your angle sensor or something messes up.

it doesnt cost anything other than finding a foot shifter, I didnt think it would work either but about 6 months ago another member on here started having problems with the es, he welded a foot shifter on (I dont think this is the way to do it, buy one from honda and trim out the floorboard or bend it to fit imop) and ran it with no problems, as atvtech, he said it was ok and I think hes a honda mechanic.
Ill tell you from using my wifes, when the battery is dead and having to manually shift it it doesnt go from s to es without killing it and recranking it well, its like the gear position sensor acts up or something, but it will shift fine with a manual

Ya there is a foot shifter you can weld on there. But its actually for if you have problems with your electric shift.  I can ask my freind where he ordered his from and i will let you know.
