how tall do the 28 edls run on rims that are 12 tall and 7 wide?? how good do they do in mud and in water?? how do they compare to a swamplite or a regular vampire??

they are about 26.5" tall and 8" wide.

they will dig and pull and clean MUCH better than Lites and are better suited as a front tire when paired w/27x12 Vampires.  IMO.

I wouldnt want them in the back due to their width.

They will pull better but they will prob leave you sitting on your rear diff fairly quick if you run them all around. Put them on the front and put some 27x12 Vamps or Laws on the back.

The 28 EDLs used to be my fav. tire for just riding and mud boggin and I ran the EDLs all da way around (I love skinny tires!!!!!!!!) and the only downside is if it was a "bottomless" hole I was seriously stuck then I got 29.5 laws and started racing and stopped just riding and I now rent out the EDLs lol.

more like get some EDLs up front and 26x12s in the rear.. dont want the 27x12s in the back because they run true to size and sometimes a little over 27". you need to have tires of the same height. and yes vamps will out pull the swamplights all day!!

My 28x10 EDLs measure between 26.5" with 5 psi and 27" with 10 psi. The perfect combo is a 27x12 Vampire TSL on the rear with 4-5 psi and a 28x10 EDL up front with 7-8 psi. They will measure within 1/4" of each other. This combo is excellent in the mud and will still ride like stock tires on the trail.

I really like running wide tires on the back, I used to be a edl man thru and thru, but I am gonna start running wide tires on the 300 for a while.

wider in the rear is almost always better. skinny's are only better for deep water (which is basically what mud racing is).
