Dunes near Chicago in IN?

Hey guys I was hoping you guys could help me out. I was wondering if there is anywhere to ride dunes in Indiana? I've seen many people with the sand tires especially around the Bass Pro in Portage when I'm passign through but I've never been able to ask them where they are headed. Closest place I know is pretty far up in MI.

The Indiana Dunes in Portage is a state park. 20 years ago, you could sneak your ATC onto the dunes west of the park and ride around if you kept your eyes open for the ranger. Now, there are still people that go in there and ride, but the rangers have ATVs and they will chase you or figure out where your trailer is and wait for you to come out and confiscate your quad. There are no legal areas to ride in NW Indiana (unfortunately). Someone should buy some land in Gary and open one up!

The only other place I know of that would utilize sand tires is the Badlands in central Indiana. They have some dune areas.
