well im puttin dual flowmaster super 40's on my 98 chevy. it has a 5.7 liter 350 in it. i hope there going to sound good

its goin to be super loud.. and illegal but it will def sounds good.. are you leaving them turn-down or you puttin tips on em?

either way, with pipes ran out or turn downs, it will sound real good. i had a z71 with the 5.7 and dual super 40's and it sounded awesome... i had turn downs at first but it got to loud when i had my first little girl so i ran thm out and it sounded good either way

I've heard them on a newer model with the [327,5.3] and it sounds really good. But you gotta love the straights!

super 40s are not illegal my dad has 40s on his 94 350 and it is true duals not cats and ran out the back turned outward and pullin a trailer it raddles stuff inside thre truck it is VERY LOUD i here a good ways down the road when he leaves in the morning and if he had turn downs wow it would be LOUD i have true duals no cars on my 89 350 and magnaflow is supposed to be a quiet muffler and mine is pretty loud but i want to put super 44s on mine

he didnt say the mufflers are illegal but the lack of cats is.

also, since its a 98 Vortec (96-99), you might have 02 sensors behind the cats. if you do, those will need to either be replaced with simulators that fool the computer or you need to have a tune done to it to turn off the rear 02's.

May just be on the 99+ NBS though.

got flowmasters but not sure which one lol cat back with the catalytic converter still on with the spare tire removed with turn downs where its supposed to be oh and its an 00 with the 5.3 sounds very mellow which is wut i like dont like my truck bein abnoxious lol

Sorry my post was a little mis-leading. Just to clarify, Super 40s arent illegal. But removing the catalytic converters is.

yea removin the cats are i thoguth you were talkin about 40s my bad and i don't run them the constrict WAY to much but they do help the environment and with cats of don't keep your truck runnin long it starts to smel like raw gas

well i ended up not removing cats or anyhting put the on with 2 1/2 stainless steel pipe. they sound good. they man told me give it about 2 weeks and they will get louder. overall they have a deep tone to them but are not ear shattering like glasspacks
