Well I have had this knot on the back of my neck on the left side, rite at the start of my hair line, (p-sized) . Its been there for about 8 months. I went to the doctor and he said to take IB Pofien and it should make it go down because its probbaly imflimation( about 5 months ago). Well I did all that and it didnt budge it. Im in Alabama and wont beable to get back to my Family doctor for about 1 month. It has never effected me before, I can squeeze etc and it has no feeling. I would have never known it was there if it wasnt for my mom shaving my neck line. Up untill now I have notice little ach pains around that area of my neck but not from that concentrated area. Just stiffness and pain about like you would get from a crick in your neck from sleeping on it wrong but this just happens time to time. ( it never changes sizes) I heard it could be a lymph node but I hear those are supposed to disapear after it takes care of the infection. Im 20 yrs old, but thanks for any help or notes. Im just peranoid really.

Umm, best advice - go see your doctor... at least that's what I'd do if I was worried about cancer!

i would go to a dr. asap. let them do some blodd work or a biopsy (if they deemed it necessary). that way the can tell you if its benign or not.

i have a knot on my right hand between my thumb and index finger been there for a year or so got to hurting so bad i had to go to the er one night jack leg dr. at the er said it was an infection. a year later its still there but doesnt hurt anymore.

WOW if u are concerned that u may have cancer WHY haven't u been to a dr yet??? Bro do u understand what cancer is and what it can do? It kills people everyday so I think u should have seen a dr it doesnt matter if it's ur family dr or not!!! What I really cant believe is y havent ur parents made u go to a dr!!! This is crazy!!!

It is probably a cyst or a lymph node. If it is not getting any larger, then I would not be particularly concerned, but you should still probably let your doctor check it out.

I had something like this back in high school. Turns out it was just swollen lymph node (sorry for the spelling). It is right at my hair line too. I would still go to the doctor and have it checked out though.lymphoid

for like 8 months i had a growth just under my left eye, it was what i thought was just a cyst cuz it was in my eye lid everyone said stuff about it but being a hard headed 22 year old male i refused to go to the doctor unless i am deathly ill and cant do anything for myself...it didnt bother me at all so i didnt worry about it and i didnt notice it until someone brought it to my attention

i had that thing for liek 6 or 8 months and just one day it went away, no telling what happened with it

well i say it went away, it isnt bulging out to where it can be seen easily but if i push on my eye lid against my eye i can feel a lil thing then

lol i had the same exact thing, never went to the doc either have no idea what it was. But just like you said you cant see it anymore unless you already knew it was there but you can feel it.

My wife had the same exact thing going on about 3 years ago. It was there most of the time but sometimes it would get smaller in size. Nobody could really tell her what it was so she had it cut out since she has a family history of cancer. It turned out to be nothing. For some reason her lymph node just stayed swollen for some reason, no infection or anything. But you should still have yours checked out. Even though it is probably nothing, you def want to make sure.

If it's on your hair/neck line where your mom shaved the back of your neck. Sounds to me like an ingrown hair that has developed into a cyst.

I had the same thing in the same spot. It went away and has not came back. I would still go see the doc though better safe than sorry.

sounds like a cyst or ingrown hair. my son had one on his face that i thought was pimple. i kept trying to pop it and it never popped. finally went to the dr and they said it was a cyst. my son was only 2 yrs old at the time and they cut it out. poor kid was traumatized.

I have the same thing in the back of my neck in the same place and my doctor told me that it is a cyst. The only way to get rid of it is to have it cut out. I also have one on my right wrist on the tendon and have to have that one cut out soon because every time it gets hit it shoots a pain down my arm kinda like when you whack your funny bone. I would definately go and get it checked out just for the piece of mind of knowong what it is.

Dude go see a doctor. When I was 16 I woke up one morning and how do I say this, my left testicle was kinda swolen and ached a little(no jokes its a family forum

.) Since I was 16 and bulletproof I let it go for three weeks or so, finally went to the doctor for the hands on exam no luck

. I had to have a ultrasound of my boys

and have blood work done to be diagnosed with a cyst on my left testicle. Scary times for sure. I thought I was going to end up like Tom Green and Lance Armstrong.

I had something like that, a little bump on the back of my neck. It is sunny a lot where I live, and that's an area that gets a lot of sun.

Anyhow, the Doc numbed it up, and removed it. I didn't feel a thing, and it only took a minute. Biopsy confirmed that it was just a cyst.

Go get it looked at. It's quick and painless, and wasn't that expensive. Waiting is just too big of a risk.

Its probably nothing more than a fatty lipoma. Regardless, it should move freely under the skin and not hard to the touch w/zero to minimal movement. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

The little bump that swells up on the eye lid (can be the top lid or the bottom lid) is likely called a Chalazion. It is a blocked sebacious gland duct. The can be cut out by an Opthomologist. It is not fun I had each eye done about a year ago. Then one came back within a month and it had to be redone. They numb your eyelid with local anesthetic, clamp it with a metal clamp and pull it out and flip it kinda inside out, and cut with a tiny scalpel and scoop out the cyst sac lining and gunk. This sounds more like a cyst than anything. Like other said, get to a doctor and get it removed. If it is only the size of pea, there won't be much to it.
