Here's a set of a-arms we built the other day. This is a temporary set only intended to make 2 races. I don't remember off the top of my head what we used (I bought the stuff , but I'm getting old) I know I had to go to a steel yard to find it. Not somthing you can get at Home Depot.

We will build a complete set of a-arms after the next race and those will be made out of DOM/mechanical tubing.

  • WORKABILITY - Drawn Over Mandrel is a cold drawn electric resistance welded tube with all flash removed. Compared to structural pipe, DOM Round Tubing is produced to more exact OD and ID tolerances and better finishes without a seam. Ideally suited for a wide range of structural and bushing applications. Widely used in stressful applications requiring higher quality, uniformity, strength, and soundness.
  • APPLICATIONS - Farm implements, construction equipment, racecar frames, motorcycle frames, automotive parts, off-road accessories, etc

wow! found this just at the right time. Been inquiring about it on a another forum.
Are you extending out the upper shock location or fabricating a extended bracket using the sock upper mount holes?
Also, are you keeping the same geometry of the quad?

I think I remeber seeing somewhere that for every inch you go down with your arms(for lift) you go out 1/4" with the length of the arms?
Thanks

Are yall keeping the same geometry? And do you go by a formula for finding the width you want your arms based on the height?

Thanks

a lot of custom builders buy the axles first and build the lift to fit them.

It's a polaris 700. It started out with a Gor!lla lift. We just raked it back a bit. If I like the wheelbase, We will make it wider. The shocks will mount differently on the wider a-arms.

We fabricated mounts that use the swaybar mounting location, since I have no swaybar this was easy.
