Please Post Pictures Of Custom Snorkels On Honda Rancher 420

i mean pictures of it all the way from air box to where ever it goes

and list everything you needed to make the snorkel

see right now i am stuck

i had a snorkel made all out of PVC but i needed to take out my air box one day and i had to cut to snorkel and it was cockeyed up front anyways so i cut it all out now

i got a 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe comeing out of air box in orginal place with a 90 and a little peipe of pipe and another 90  and just got the factory hose and bushing to clap that in so when i need to take out air bbox just un do it and pull the pipe out

and useing adapter (rubber) from 1 1/2 to 2 inch claping that down and then connecting a piece of flex hose about 1 foot and running that into a 90 and going up useing a 45 and another piece of pipe to another 90 and another ppiece of pipe to a cupling outside of plastic and conntect the snorkel  not done yet with it i will try to take pictures tommorrow
if someone else has a better idea please help me out

and i was wondering how does people get to pipes coming out b/c that is hardly no room to work with that

please post up

and did you run that out of the air box ??

i used 90 degree pvc angle or whatever this is called.

for the air box you'll need to cut off the stock pipe coming from it (leave about 10 cm) so you can glue a new pipe to it. it will get tight so you will need some silicon for rubber things in the airbox (you will see what i'm talking about once you have started)

to get it to the handle bars i just drilled a hole (drill a small one first than use a knife)

as well i need to find the way to hold the snork vertical because if you just get in the hole you drilled it looks like someone was drunk while doing that and it's leaning to the side still it does not affect top speed but annoys a lot)

it took me about two hours and 2L of beer to sort that
(it is really hard to paint pvc )
good luck !

on mine we used 1 1/2 flex, it has no ridges on th inside of so that it dnt restrict air flow. also we used the factory rubber grommet and clamp the flex pipe slide right in. it dnt hurt to put some silecone around the grommet and the pipe just to cya, if u knw wat i mean!!!! the jur it like he has and if u use 2 hose clamps in wont lean or move at all for that matter.

You can kinda see the two brackets together here.  It keeps them vertical always.

They are not true duals. One is the intake and the other is the vent lines.

i just do not understand how do you make the fake pipe for the air lines?? i mean how do you attach it to the plastic? see where i messed up is i put a 2 inch hole right in the center of the 4x4 so i have to use just 1 snorkel but i should have it  done here shortly  i just got to put a 90 and a 45  and a peice of pipe and then run it out of the plastics

i used a male threaded fitting under the plastic and pushed it through the hole... then a female threaded fitting on top of the plastic.

My brother got the flex pipe at his work.  they have it for injection molding so its good with heat... doesn't melt.

10-4 now i got a question i just got the male and female fittings out of the supply room at work ( I Can Get All That I Need HEHE ) i needed to complete my snorkel and  they do not screw all the way together did yours?? if not what did you use for a spacer so they will clamp tight against the plastic??

Or Is There A Kind That Does Screw All The Way Together I Will Check For Them Instead

ah no they didn't screw all the way together... but plumbers tape sealed up the threads quite nicely.  Mine has not leaked yet.  Now if you are running only one snorkel you might want to find some kind of plate to go under the plastic to support it some.  Or it might be fine.  One reason i put two of them was to use each of them to to support the other.  Mine did clamp tight against the plastic though with just the fittings.

yeah 10-4 i got some gaskets for hoses to put on the thread to take up the space to make it tight against the plastic and for the underneath of plastic i gunna get a peice of steel and use the plasma to cut it out and put the male tho it and then through the plastic  and then the female onto the male to hold it pretty good  i should have it done  at christmas b/c i think i get 2 days off hehe i got all the stuff for it but i have not even touched it in like a week or so  but i wil;l post pictures as soon as i get it done or when i get time
