Here's the setup...

Outlander 800R, Woods exhaust, cams, hc pistons, power comamnder III, 30" Mudzillas on SS112's 14"

Mostly trail riding, some mud holes now and then...

I'd like to just get a spring, on my brute I had bought an entire kit and it really seemed like a rip off.

Let me know what you think would be the best... Dalton or EPI,  what color?

You really need to get the Dalton kit with the weights.  The weight profile really helps out the low end.  They are also adjustable unlike the kit you probably had on your brute.

What cams are you planning on using?  the stock cams in the R seem pretty aggressive, i don't think the woods cams are going to help out if thats what you are thinking, especially for trail riding.  The hc pistons are a good idea, just be careful with the extra compression during the heat of the summer.  those hot trail rides could become abusive!

Thanks for the advice on the Cam. I was going to get the woods Cam, I am actually calling them in about 10 minutes to place the order for all of it. Maybe I'll hold off on it for now. I just figured I'd have it all done at once.

I took some of the extra heat into account, picked up some engine ice, and I was considering the triple flow rad from HL. But, I think I'll decide on that once I get some hot weather rides in.

Also, thanks for the advice on the clutch kit. I know when I bought the one for my brute, I thought you have got to be kidding me, this cost me $250.

i would go with the dalton kit as well. you really only need the primary sping and weights and leave the secondary sping stock...  then just expriment with the weights and rivots till you find where you want to be.. i have been told changing the weights and using the rivots to about 2 grams under stock works real well for big tires but be careful going to lite lots of belt o slip

If you're gonna run big tires, you need a helix. You can probably run the stock weights in the primary, and just change the primary dpring to whatever engagement you want. It's simpler and waaay cheaper too. The belt will last a lot longer this way. With the helix mod, belt pinch is increased, and you'll probably need more weight in the primary, if anything. All these kits for the primary raise the engine rpms by letting the motor rev with lighter weights and probably letting the belt slip a little, leading to a shorter belt life.

Never heard anything about the helix mod, how hard is that to do? Who sells the parts?

I've been machining them to your setup. They're available for most sleds, but being our atv's helix's are plastic, noone offers one for them. PM me for more info.
