Looking to pick one of these up today or tamorrow and just wanted a little feedback. Is it really going to make that much of a differnce? The kit comes with the keys and blocks. The full kit comes with shocks also. My question is is it going to give me that extra 1-2 in that it says it does? I dont want to spend $200 on soemthing that isnt going to be noticeable. And another thing. Should i get the shocks to go along with the kit? Heres a pic of my truck as it is now.

I only did the front on mine and it made a noticeable difference. It rides about the same as before, but 2 inches higher. I would go ahead and get the shocks since the factory length shocks wil be extended out a pretty good ways.

I cranked my bars in the front to level it. I tried the ride with the factory shock and it pretty much sucked. I ordered the Bilstein 5100 Series for a Chevy 1500 with 2" of lift and it made a world of difference. Be sure to get an alighnment after the lift or you will eat your tires.

Have you cranked your torsion bars any?  If so, you're not going to notice any lift unless you install the new keys and then crank them, which is a very bad idea.  You'd be money ahead to just crank the bars until you get about 1.5" of lift out of them.  What most people do not understand is that preload is preload, no matter how you achieve it.  The only thing reindexed torsion keys do is allow you to crank your your bars too far, causing a very harsh ride and extreme front end wear, but you get that extra 1-1.5" compared to the factory keys  .  The reindexed keys will provide you with about 1.5" of lift over stock, which is about the same amount of lift you can safely achieve by cranking your factory keys, thus making a "leveling kit" a waste of money IMO unless you intend to crank the bars after installing the new keys.  If this is what you want, then by all means do it, it's your truck and money, however be aware that your truck will ride like a stagecoach and eat front end parts.

Yes it will wear out parts A LOT faster......  Don't buy the "kit"!!!!!!   The keys they are selling you are the exact same as factory F-150 keys, like a 97 model.  You can got to a ford dealer and get them for about 50 bucks, and block are even cheaper even if you have to get new u-bolts made.....  you can make your own kit for less than 100 dollars.

The Ford keys are not the same, they are very close but the Ford torsion bars have a larger sized hex end than the Chevy's do. I have a friend that has the Ford keys, they work dont get me wrong but the fit so loose over the Chevy torsion bar i would be afraid it would round the torsion bar off after a while. I have that same kit you are interested in but I've got the bolts cranked to about the factory location but it sits up about 2" higher and still rides fairly smooth. Ive had it cranked up to about 3" of lift but i didn't like the way it rode. Another friend of mine has a truck like mine with the same exact setup the only difference is he has smaller tires than I do. But IMO I would spend the little extra money and get the keys that are designed for the Chevy torsion bars.

go over to fullsizechevy.com to get some more input, but what i did in my old Z71 is put the ford keys in it.  they work the exact same as the leveling kit but cost a ton less.  go ahead and get new shocks.  the stock ones will wear out FAST because they are bottoming out.
