I have a charging system problem that I am trying to find. I have a 2005 A/C 500 4x4 I am measuring DC voltage at the battery I reach a maximum of 12.8 volts. Lower than specified (According to the manual I have.)  When I unplug the connector as described and measure A/C voltage  at the connector on the right side of the engine I am placing both the red and black terminals of my meter on one of the 3 wires in the connector.  At this point I am able to achieve the specified value of 62 A/C volts at the elevated RPM range.  30 volts at idle....Is this the correct way to test the stator or am I not  doing something incorrectly...If I am doing this correctly then the values obtained show that stator is OK. I did attempt to measure from the negative terminal and also the same 3 pin connector and got substanially lower numbers.
Resistance test are as follows
charging coil 0.9 - 0.7 ohm  (spec 0.32-0.48)
trigger coil    225 ohm  (spec 160-240)
source coil   0.2 ohm ( spec 0.08-0.12)
little advise anyone   GWC?
