Changing Wheel Bearing in Brute? - 1/26/2007 9:24:36 AM

Well i have changed wheel bearings many time before but never in the brute and my rear one just went out and i have gotten another one in from the dealer. How easy is it to change them in the brute? is it a simple pop-out and change it or is it hard to get to?

Also where does everyone buy their bearings at? Do you get them from a bearing dealer or from the Kawi dealer?

Thanks everyone,
Bradley

I saw some on Ebay made by All Balls Racing...anyone swapped out theirs with these?

I removed the c-clip in front, then used a large socket and banged it out from the back.

Never heard of it. I finally got mine out after beating on it and it wouldnt come out so i took it to a neighbors and used their press machine.

kellenk, you can tell that they are out if you lift the bike off the ground and wiggle the tire back and forth and it feels as if it is loose or has slack in it.

We have a local bearing shop down here and i was wandering if they made the same size that would fit for cheaper but i havent had time to check into it. I know the bearings from kawi are about $55.
