Hey,
My bud was showing me this application he downloaded off of the internet and it was like a camera inside of his computer, recording what ever he dragged the little box around on his screen. He told me the name and now I forget it. Any inputs appreciated!

Try Googling Fraps, Hypercam, ZD Soft Game Recorder, etc.
