Tore my outer cv boot this weekend at the deer lease.  My dealer told me that it was $42.  How hard is it to change these things out if I decide to do it myself?  Any help will be appreciated.  Bike is in my sig.

Not to hard. Pull the tire and hub away from the axle, remove old and install new.The clamps that come with them can be a pain. I have changed a few and it usually takes an hour.

I've done just about everything but change out a cv boot.  So how do you get the shaft end of the boot over the hub end?  Does the shaft come apart after you cut the old boot off?  Just want to get all my ducks in a row before I start to tear this thing apart.

The "hub end" will come off the axle shaft then you can slide the boot on. Or you can get a quick boot and a tool for it and it will actually expand over the "hub end" and you don't even have to take it apart.

if you water ride, dont do that imop
take a brass hammer and pop the cup off, and remove the boot, then install new one, I dont know on a ac but on a grizzly, the outer part of the shaft is the side that comes off, then if you tear an inner boot both must be removed to replace a inner
just my .02
