i have always ran 89 in all my bikes. last couple of month i have been running 93 in my 800. dont know if it really a big deal or not just a habbit i got into. i had a 325 magnum and if you tried to run 87 it would backfire constantly so i just never ran it since then

I always run 93 in mine. I don't know if it really matters with an EFI bike, it's just what I've done since I got it.

I honestly don't think it matters but for what it's worth I've run 89 octane in mine since day one.

I run 92 in all our bikes.  Some small engines don't like th eethanol in the 89 don't know why but they don't.

Ethanol is not good for smaller engines.. Burns too hot.. Liquid cooled engines handle it better than air cooled.
