we had a bog here close to southern illinois. I ran my 500 foreman with the mods that i got in my sig... took first place, raced 500 H.O's and some 450 foremans. Came down to me and one 500 HO popo triple elimination, i got better lane and beat him all the way down, he was running 27 executioners and just about every mod you can put on em.

well I'm not expecting to make anything out of it.... but I'm hoping and praying to get my bike back together for the 500 and under class @ timberlanes next weekend.

last time I did pretty decent... considering it was my first event... ifns it wouldnt have been for the darn buy backs I woulda been 3rd.... never seen a race where you can buy back in in the semifinals

i'm not sure just a little tuning is gunna make that much of a difference there cuz.   maybe a little but you won't be able to feel or tell a difference.... or I never have in anything I have ever tuned.... other than my duramax truck with an 100hp tune

it will really depend on the pit if its a real technical pit then yes u will have just as good of chance as any other brand bike but if its just a water race where hp is king then u really will not have much of a chance and plus most are automatics which helps out alot in those kind of races its like my 300 i can go more places with less trouble then most of the bigger bikes but i cant do it with speed like they can

you don't think running the optimal afr from 20%-100%wot dialed in every 250 rpms is gonna make that much of a difference?????????????  the bikes is not anywhere close to it now, not even close.  no one's bike is anywhere close UNLESS it's tuned so that seems a bit presumptious to me.  you guys with carbed bikes just stick a jet in because you switch a pipe or something and hope for the best.  all these machines are different and need to be set on a case by case basis, not just running a map or a jet because your buddy with a similar set-up is.  that's why you never noticed a difference.

well if you dyno it and it proves to make a big difference I'de surely like to see it.    You'll get it more dialed in... but when HMF and these other companies build these parts they work with these bikes and get the tunes pretty close.  Yeah a little tuning is probably required... BUT if your expecting it to make enough difference to take a bike exactly like yours with a not exact tune and walk away from it in a mud pit... your gunna be rather disappointed.

better yet just go buy a wideband... they aren't all that expensive... couple hundred bucks and you can change it whichever way you prefer to adapt to your own weather and conditions each time you ride. i believe the innovative wideband is around $350 and they work very well, I have delt with a few of them

it will be tuned with a wide band commander.  and if i'm getting beat by no more than 4 seconds then i'll take every edge i can get.  i'm giving up alot to a 500 h.o. so everything helps right?

Why the rancher?
You will still be in 500 and under class right?
Why didnt go with a 450 or 500?

joshua99ta
Dont you have a lot of work going into your bike right now?
I am working on building a 400 for some of this and didn't know if sinking a G into this thing was going to even B worth it.
I want to stay in 500 and under class preferably with Honda so just wondering where I may get.
Would do nitrous but throw me out of the class I am trying to stay in.

the 400/450s are awesome bikes!  it doesnt take much to bump up the power and they will handle amazing tire sizes.    I was gunna build a stroker motor for my bike... but it didnt work out.... and I'm kinda glad b/c woulda put me in the class with the big bore bikes and I can't  compete with the in anyway.

I have a HL BBK, cam, and clutch kit.  I am putting a gear reduction in when I get back in from work on wednesday, and I'm gunna port my head some too

unfortunately that's issue.  it's great IN it's class but would get eaten alive by big bikes.  i have thought about the nos but what after cannon did to it today it will do just fine.  when you start putting bikes on the bottle and putting 6" monkey lifts on stuff you gotta go to the open class and that's not for me.
