Hello,
I'm currently looking for new tires. I do mostly trail riding. I've been searching the forums for any info on the both the Maxxis tires. I know that the original bighorn is a radial tire and is bigger size then stated. But what about the newer bighorn 2.0? I looked on the Maxxis site and they don't state anywhere if it's a Radial or a bias-ply? Also looked for reviews on the newer version but none seems to be available, anyone tired this tire yet? I see a huge difference in spacing between the lugs and I know they are a bit shorter as well, does this equal too lower life span?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Dave F.

Not sure about a new Bighorn, but the regular Bighorn is a good trail tire, much like a Dirttamer.

So I heard, being that I've never tried a radial tire I'm not sure of how much difference i'de see between a bighorn or a dirt-tammer. Any info on any of the three is welcomed at this point. ;)

Thanks
Dave F.

I've been told the Tamers are lighter and cheaper.

The Bighorn 2.0 is a lighter cheaper bias ply version of the Bighorn, should be very similar in overall performance.

Are you sure I read somewhere that they made the 2.0 a bias ply to keep costs a little lower then the original. I could be wrong cause I read it on some online store description of the 2.0, not on Maxxis's website.

So the new bighorns 2.0 should be a radial and lighter. Out of the 3 available Bighorn, Bighorn 2.0 and the Dirt Tamer wich ones would any of you recommend?
