Are the bi tri claws better for riding the river than outlaws?
What are the lugs on the bi tris?

Laws. Only benefit of the bi/tris is trail ability, they will handle better imo. Other than that, laws are the way to go.

The Laws are the better mud tire but the Bi/Tris will run circles around them on trails and in the sand. The Bi/Tris will also last far longer then the Laws will. I feel that the Mud Machines for the most part (there are variables in every riding situation) will follow equal sized Laws through all but the nastiest of mud, just with a little more work and wheel speed.

I ride probably 70/30 mud and trail and the Bi/Tri claws have yet to dissapoint me in either situation. They amazed me in the sand, I also ride a lot in a sand pit and was worried about having to get a set of tires just for that. They trail as good as my Mudlites did and they do great in the mud. I love them perfect tire for me, and with the pipe and clutch kit my Rancher spins them good.

Hey man if you get the 28in laws your ride will be more bumpy and the  tires will wear faster than say the 27 (the best riding law) and the 29.5. They both have a more flat profile like a box where as the 28in has a more rounded profile like a basketball. so i would say for your 420rancher it would probally be better to go with the 27in

No chance, I rode with a Grizz 660 that had 27" Laws on it in a sand pit one time before I got my Bi/Tris and they were buried half the time. He couldn't use 2wd at all, as soon as he touched the gas the rear started going down quick. They didn't even do that great in 4wd, he couldn't make it up any of the hills at all. I had 26" Mudlites on my 420 at the time and I was going up all of the hills in 2wd except for one that I needed to use 4wd. I still ride up at that sand pit all the time and havn't seen him since. Me on my 420 with the Bi/Tris can go more places in the sand then my little brother can on his Zuki LTZ250 with 22" Gators, farther then my freind with a BB400 and stock Mudlites, farther then my freind with a 91 Honda TRX250X with 22" Swamplites, and a lot farther then my brother in law on his King 700 with 27" Swamplites.
