I bought one of the Highend Audiopipes and have been pretty pleased with it, but now I want MORE!  I am thinking of building my own and adding a 6" sub in the middle using a 6" PVC "T".  I found the subs on ebay for pretty good prices.  My question to all of you is this:  How would I wire it?  Would I need two amps or can I splice them together?  Please let me know what you all think!!!

If you put a sub in the same enclosure as 6.5" full range speakers I think something will break. And I believe you would need a second amp with a low-range setting...

agreed on the second amp, and low range setting, but a sub needs space to bounce the bass, i have made two attempts with subs on a wheeler, the only one that kind of worked was one that had a snorkle built into it to allow free flow of air, and it didnt work anything like a sub in a truck
my wifes box with 6x9s has more bass than that thing did

you can put a T in it and find a way to cap it off at the end so its not using the same airspace as the 6.5"s then put some poly-fill in the airspace with the sub

If you can find a 4 channel amp that will fit inside the pvc then you can bridge the 2 channels mono for the sub and run the other 2 stereo. Most amps will have a built in crossover for this purpose. As lp04 stated, make sure to have channel seperation and use some poly fill to "trick" the sub enclosure for more volume. No sealed, open air type sub, unless it's at least a 15", is going to make crazy bass outdoors. Subs need stuff to reverb off for the full effect. I have been toying with the idea of slot loading an old Kenwood HQ10 and my old MB Quart 6-4-tweet combo onto the rear of my quad. Maybe this winters project.?.?.?  Not sure on how many GOOD batteries I will need to power it though or even if the quad could handle it. Might have to just use it as a stand alone setup but it would sure be fun to find out.

Awesome 6.5".  I personally own 2.

Here's a low quality cell phone vid of them in a 1 cubic foot ported box.  Doesn't do them real justice.  300 watts RMS each from a Memphis MOJO 2500D.  I had people believing that I had a couple 10's in the back. LOL  Of course they won't sound nearly as loud in an open acoustical environment.

You could always do this, but probably not enough space on 4 wheeler rack...lol
