Does anyone know the diameter of an ape axle bar? I need to sleeve one of mine, and don't have access to my axle or a micrometer until tomorrow. I've found a site that sells chromoly tubing by the inch, I just need to know what wall thickness to order that will fit snug over the current bar.

Does anyone happen to know the alloy of the bars? I think its 4140, but Im not real sure. I need to know what all I need to tell the fab shop that is going to lengthen my bar.

A new bar is around $75-$100. I'd just call them and order what you need.

Yeah, I know, but I can sleeve the axle for around $20. The reason it needs to be sleeved is because my differential shifted in my frame when a mounting tab broke. We couldn't get it back perfect, so it needs a longer bar on one side. If I ever sell the lift, I cant sell the extended bar with it. So Im trying to see if I can fix it for cheaper.

Well I mean I haven't checked yet, but all it is going to take about 12"-16" of tubing and maybe 20 minutes of welding. I might have underestimated, but I do know that it will cost less than $100+shipping.

I sleaved one of mine it will work fine and wont cost much at all, just weld it real good.

I went to my local place called "metel by the foot" and took my axle with me, they had some that fit very very tight on the axle bar worked good.
