not sure if its the same as 06 650i but on mine it was the blue wire that is coming out of the fan.

Just tap into the red on the aux. plug and jump over and tap into the blue on the fan. You can put a switch on it if you want.

If you don't run a switch, it's on with the key. If you do use a switch, it works as normal or you can turn it on if the key is on.

I have a 650 SRA, and I statred having a problem with my fan not comming on and the temp light in the speed instrument was comming on, come to find out my problem was a bad switch under the seat. It was replaced under warrenty and havn't had any problems with it since. It is on the left side about halfway towards the back and has 2 wires going into it. Check that to see if that is your problem, I was able to wiggle the wires and the fan would come on and work fine, untill the new switch came in.
