2008 Ford F250???  Mines bone stock right now, want to get my smoke back so to speak.  Passed an 08 this morning with stock exhaust that smoked like a Mac truck when he left the light.  Will a programmer alone do this or do you have to remove the DPF?

You will have to remove the DPF to make your truck last.  WE use the SCT programs and a Flow Pro DPF delete kit.

My brother-in-laws SCT tuner wiped his PCM on his 06 F-350 one time, they paid to fix at least. He has a Bully Dog now I think.

The wonderfull thing about tuners is you can take them out when there is a warranty problem and they will never find out unless you tell them.

I wish this was true, however a qualified mechanic can search the stock computer for signs of a programmer installed, even if it has been removed.  They do not normally go to this trouble unless they think that the damage or warranty work is not a standard problem or malfunction of the trucks normal duties.  CtownForeman, I'm not worried about warranty stuff really, a good dealer will back the warranty in most cases no matter what, and I don't know how it is in Texas, but in Mississippi they are not gonna write a ticket for black smokin...

No thats what you are told.  Dealers can find out if a tuner has been installed.  A tuner replaces your stock settings but does it delete what everything it has read and stored?  No.

A DPF delete kit does void warrenty and is illegal for on the road operation.  Your messing with the enviroment and thats not something to mess with right now.

Black smoke does nothing but polute.  It's fuel not burned and with diesel at $5.00 a gallon to me it's not worth to watch it go out the tailpipe.  It's just power not used.  There are better and cleaner ways to get a diesel to run without throwing a programmer and a straight exhaust on it.

Here in Texas they do right out tickets for black smoke, specially for large amounts of it.  Remember we are dealing with ozone ALOT now days and it's getting strict.  A dealer should and normally willvoid warrenty on motor work if the new exhaust dpf system is tampered with.  It's become a big deal nowdays.  Why do you think the government requires this stuff on all diesel's that come out after 2008 and your tractor trailer's are being bought for large amount if the blocks and frames are reuined to get them off the highways.  Here soon dpf delete systems will not work what so ever.  On tractor trailer trucks if something is tampered with it shuts the truck down period.  Resistors don't work on these systems.  Thats all a DPF delete kit is is resistors fooling the sensors.  I know people paying $1,000+ for a delete kit which is all abunch of resistors that cost $.25 a piece.  Get ready, this stuff is getting serious.

Our DFP kits are just $295.  Yes they are not suppose to be used on the highway.  Offroad use only.  I can you one thing it does help out the fuel mileage after you take the DPf out of the system.  Ford does require a turner/program to make it work.  Ford claims if you do this your warrenty is gone.  Even if you place the stock parts back.  They say the ECM records everything on this new trucks.

Yes it will get better milage but will still not run as clean.  Yes all new trucks remember and take down notes of what goes on with the truck that a tuner/programmer can not do anything with.

Any gas V8 sounds better then any oil burner to me but some of them are ok.

Deleting the DPF is technically illegal in every state. But you will only get in trouble in a few states and a good dealer wont put up a fuss. If your dealer does he obviously doesnt want your business, so take it elseware.

DPF delete pipes are just that, a pipe that deletes the filter. The rest has to be handled by a programmer on all three of the diesels.

It doesnt take much and it really wakes the truck up.

Currently there are 4 Duramaxes running 42 series Garrett turbos, Suncoast trannies, no DPF, and some wicked tuning. Two of them have twin CP3s as well. These trucks MOVE.
