I have a '95 Magnum 425 4x4. Does this model have a locking front differential or do the front wheel turn independently? It is new to me, and I haven't had a chance to put too many miles on it, but it doesn't seem to turn both from wheels together when trying to negotiate an obstacle.

Thanks, Tim

The front dif is just a spool or gear case.  The AWD function in your machine is perfromed in the front hubs.

Well I guess what I am asking is...should the front end be locked together when in AWD. If it is a spool there should be equal power to both front wheels, if it is an open differential there should be power to the wheel that slips. I thought they should both turn together but mine does not do that. I am trying to confirm if this is the correct operation or if something is not working correctly.

Thanks, Tim

I think that may have not been the best title to accurately describe my question, but I cannot edit it now!

They should turn together, check or change your hub fluid.
