Instead of using the DC outlet, if I ran the amp to a toggle switch then to the battery would I need to do anything else? Like fuses, grounding and anything else?

still need a ground wire and it would be smart to use a fuse. make the wires as short as possible it allows power to flow unrestricted

So what would be the easiest way of doing it? I'm not an electrician by any means.

I know I need a ground wire from the Amp. And even though the amp has a built in fuse I still need to figure out a way to put one on the battery wire? I really dont want to give up my outlet.

figure out where you wanna put the amp and wirea, scrape the paint off the metal, using a self tapping screw to hold the wire(i'd put the wire connection on the wire that clamps on and has the round thing to pass a screw/bolt through) attach the ground wire. you can buy an amp kit that has everything you'll need in it unless you've already have the wires you can go to a audio store and ask for a round fuse box(they're usually water/weather proof) to run the power wire back the screw off of the positive a little insert the power and tighten be caerefull though if you back it out too much itll come out and its a pain to put back in. you will have to put a remote wire with a toggle switch on it so you can cut your amp on and off so you don't drain the battery. you'll need to run it from the battery also with the switch between the the amp and the battery

thats it but unless you plan on running the remote wire to your ignition you'll need to do as stated earlier

Ok remote wire has a toggle switch on it... then where does it go just loop another wire back to it so itll be like a circle? I get a little confused reading it thats why I made the little picture. And the fusebox will be on the power wire correct? I forgot to put it in the picture.

Thanks again ziggy.

or you can try to take the lead off of the toggle and plug it in with the power on the amp its been a while since i've had to rig one up like that but i think thats how we done it

the box that's on the power box should be the fuse box and the toggle switch should come with two wires hook the other wire either into the power insert on the amp or run it to the battery i'll get this pict out of the paint booth on my computer i'll put it up

Ziggy thanks for all the help.

I am thinking about just using a separate battery now so I can run a CB too and maybe some KB lights later on.

If it's enclosed can I just use a regular one or should I use marine grade anyway?
