would it be better to leave my air filter in the box, or put it on the end of my snorkel?  i was just thinkin today that i could fit a filter with a bigger surface area than the one that fits in the air box on the end of my snorkel which in theory would allow in more air to the engine.

the downfall is that water could splash up and get on the filter.

what is yall's opinion on this?

Leave the filter in the airbox. It is protected there at all times, and does not clog up as fast.

There has been many topics on here about this before, and many people have placed the filter on the end of the snorkle, and paid the price for it.....most have put the filter back into the airbox.

Remember, the manufacturer put it there for a reason. If it was better to place it outside, in the free air, then they would have place it there. The airbox is still getting air like normal with a snorkle. All you have done is moved the location where it is open to the air (rather than under the seat/gas tank, you move it to the front rack).
I hope I explained it right...
