Guys:

I have a 98' 300 4x4 and the carb keep overflowing-pouring gas from overflow hose. I have rebuilt the carb and it stopped for a while, but now it is flowing again. The float appears to be intact, i can't find a pin hole or see fluid inside the float. Someone told me that the floats just stop working over time--but wasn't sure how true that was. My next step is to get a new float and hope for the best. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like maybe the float valve (if that's even what it's called) might have fallen off the float or isn't seating right

the float needle valve has trash in it or its wore out.

could be float valve or it needs to be adjusted

My Father-in-laws did the same thing after a rebuild. I ran some fuel system cleaner through it and it hasn't done it since, going on 4 months.

how do you adjust the float valve?

Like got muddy said it can't be adjusted. Maybe the seat is messed up, but it sounds like the float valve isn't closing fully when it should

i mis read what gotmuddy wrote...sorry. I didnt think you could adjust it. We'll I ordered a rebuild kit that has a new float, so ill try that. If any of you have any other suggestions keep them coming. Thanks
